Mobile phone in hand in Africa
The ColaLife Trial in Zambia (COTZ) uses mobile phones to:
1 Authenticate the Kit Yamoyos.
2 To redeem vouchers. Vouchers are given to mothers and care-givers as part of the marketing strategy. Mothers exchange these at retail shops for a Kit Yamoyo. Retailers then use their mobile phone to redeem the voucher. This puts K5,000 (USD1.00) into their account and they can withdraw this money when they next visit the district centre to buy supplies.
3 To deliver a 50% Special Offer contained within each kit.
