Celebrating Freedom

I'm very glad I'm from the USA, where in spite of everything there is still

- free speech (as free as it can get)

- freedom of religion

- separation of church and state

- opportunity and hope

I'm not proud of our invasion of Iraq, and was againt our invasion from the start. I feel sad that we have lost the faith and confidence of people around the world in our "goodness", which was not in doubt after WWII.

Still, I'm proud, and though not a flag-waving type of guy, I celebrate our freedom, and pray that we allow others to be free as well. I hope that other nations can achieve democracy on their timetable, and as their choice, not ours.

This is similar to an earlier photo, but reworked from a different background, and as an HDR
