Boreray is an uninhabited island in the St Kilda archipelago. Its highest point is Mullach an Eilein at 384 meters.

Boreray's cliffs are home for various seabirds. In 1959, 45,000 pairs of gannets were counted on the island and the two stacks.

This was taken from the Gap on Hirta, standing on a 160 meter high cliff, just before sunset. I have just come back from a 2 week field trip to St. Kilda, and I managed to find some time to get out and explore the island. So stay tuned for more shots of this spectacular place during the next few weeks...
