I took a spin out to the Leadburn Inn on the M5. The bike really is a remarkable combination of outright speed and evil handling – even to this seasoned recumbent rider.
In despite of the long climb of the A701 south out of Penicuik, and the shockingly bad tarmac that held my speed down on account of my eyeballs being vibrated so much my vision blurred, the 20 mile round trip took barely over the hour.
My yoga mat tailbag might not add much in speed, but it carries far more than I need, and unlike carbon tailboxes it doesn't boom at all. I also hot glued the headrest together and added more Velcro, so this time it didn't unwrap itself or require constant pushing back up under the weight of my head.
