Great portrait. Does he really use his speed graphic?
  • Soupflower 8y

Isn't that the guy who takes pics of people in the Meatpacking District on the weekends? His camera looks really familiar.
  • Timothy Vogel 8y

Very cool picture. A polaroid would've been awesome.
  • Benjamin Curry 8y

@Joey: Yes, he does! It's a beautiful camera. I think he used a polaroid back on it...

@Soupflowers: I think this guy is the one who shoots in the Meat Packing district, though I've never seen him. The guy in my picture used to hang out all over the Union Square/6th Ave. area taking peoples' pictures for $20 or $30...

@Pro-Zak: Indeed, I ought to carry my Polaroid with me all the time...
  • Soupflower 8y

    Very cool.
Maybe the other guy was the photographer I was thinking about. I am not quiet sure.
  • lempkin 8y

The composition here is ace, he seems so very interesting. I love this shot and i hope that you have it blown up and framed somewhere, it would be a tragedy to not. this is really frigging brilliant.

Oh my God, I just met this guy in front of BandH this morning. (1/26/08) I was drawn to that camera. He said he bought it new in 1960. He has a polaroid back and shoots instant 4x5's He doesn't look old enough to have bought it in 1960, but who am I to tell.

Oh yeah. Nice portrait. I think he would like it.
