for backpacking trip night #1 on Cumberland Island.
This was a truly epic campsite. Located just a few feet from the high tide line along the western shore of the island. A strong northwest wind blew directly at the door, keeping all the mosquitoes, gnats, and no-see-ums entirely at bay, keeping the temperatures quite comfortable for this warm-blooded yankee, and providing a nice, steady white noise for total sleeping comfort. High tide hit around 2AM, and I stuck my head outside to see waves lapping about a foot away. Love it!
