An open field in rural Haiti serves as an LZ for an MH-60 Sea Hawk. As Crewchief Scott Hatch throws boxes of MREs out of the cargo hold the crowd gathers quickly. Drops such as these - although lifesaving - do not always go well. Shortly after this frame, the chopper is crowded, and forced to take flight to avoid being stormed. One MH-53 helicopter on a similar drop is overtaken by the crowd, her cargo hold a boxing ring for fist-fights over boxes of MREs. Situations such as these complicate the distribution of food and water. For safety, the military prefers to set up controlled distribution sites, especially to help NGOs distribute aid.
