Big thanks to Isaac for letting me use his camer for this one.
Sky and Ground edited seperately for better color seperation.
Out shooting with Isaac Koval. We left our friends sleeping in the cabin while we adventured out into the snowy hills of the Ochocos looking to shoot some stars with snow. It was cold. Cold-cold. Negative numbers cold.
Isaac captured an amazing scene here:
My capture of the shot was missed by some stupid oversight on tripod orientation. I'll post my take in a week or two. Props to Isaac for really nailing that shot.
But, while the christmas tree star trail was "baking," I trekked out and looked for a setup of my favourite glowing tent shot.
Shooting with Isaac that night and watching him frame his shot helped me to see star trails differently. I've always been making a "scene" to then add stars to.
He enlightened me to seeing the scene as shapes. Trying to balance the situation with subject and background as weighted spaces and less as detailed items.
This shot doesn't show that so much, but I hope to frame my night shots better from here on out.
