Dreamy Nites in my Tent
Shot from inside my tent.
Star Trails amaze me. I know the Earth rotates. I know the constellations "move" across our sky. But, to see the evidence, the lines burned into a photograph- it makes me silly like a kid again.
This is the first try of an idea I've been obsessing about attempting.
There's much I'll change on my next attempt, but none the less, I love whats in this. The concept that while I sleep, wrapped up in my sleeping bag, under the sky- the stars spin around in my sleep; I knew camping was magical, but here is my proof :-)
Single exposure, about 45 min or something long. Tent interior lit by mini flashlight. Edited in Lightroom.
This was a PAIN IN THE BUTT setting this up!!
While the exposure was taking, I thought of some ways to set this up easier and more efficiently. As it was, I spent most of my "dark night" time setting it all up, rather than taking the actual exposure. Dawn was coming soon, so i cut the exposure shorter than I wanted. I was hoping for longer star trails.
For those of you familiar with Oregon's North Star location (about 40ish degrees in the sky) yes, i know, this seems photoshopped, but it's not.
I had to get VERY creative and dirty for this to work. It's one single exposure.
