580exII + 430exII - strobe mode

I love going to the annual city centre cycle race in Guildford, which promises some close fought racing over the narrow and part-cobbled course. I decided to continue using the strobe mode on my flashes as I have previously, but this time strapped two flashes together (using IR and off camera flash cord) to up the flash power to help overcome the ambient light, as the strobe mode zaps the power quite a bit depending on the amount of flashes you dial up in one shot. It sort of worked, but my favorite corner had became so crowded this year, I couldn’t get the right composition against a dark background, and by the time the crowds had cleared a bit my flash batteries had died and I quickly realised I’d forgotten spares in the rush to get out to the race.
