Tribal eye... barriers.......................................

Uniting the different tribes of this mega city is a clear objective for Hummingbird’s Breakdance group, AfroBreak. Their latest dance production, “Tribal Union” aims to break down some of the many barriers of predujice prevalent in São Paulo’s urban periphery, a city divided by many more

NB! Photos from AfroBreak’s recent “Tribal Union” dress rehearsal, where the dancers used expressive make-up painted with tinged clay, created by themselves after an inspiring visit to Eric Lafforgue’s wonderful photo series on Flickr Papua New Guinea.

    it´s a fantastic picture.

dear fellow I wont never be tired to say how I admire your example to keep on fighting against this cruel state of things, this unreal perverted state of things made of social injustice, thievery, corruption, total absence of ethics that´s spread in our country so culturally rich and full of potentialities. It causes me repulsion to see that disgusting contractors, judges, politicians and all that gang being held in his "falcatruas, maracutaias e roubalheiras" with the public money, the money that we pay and pay and pay hoping to see something been done to give some dignity to the life of this already wise people and for us, too, to have some sense of citizenship respected, and nothing happening with this f_kin son of b. (oh, excuse me the prostitutes to associate them with that gang).
It´s tough, hard, cruel to live this. Because is in this way of think and act and abuse of our limits that is the whole thing fundamented. This is the birthplace of this horrible situation, man... And, you may know, more older I am , less reasons to believe that this can change someday, I have...
Just this, I am soooo tired of a hard working day that, when I was beginning to prepare myself to sleep, I received a phone call from
my godmother that lives in the Coroa slum telling me that she had suffered a cut in the feet in her house and, with her husband absent and only with my 14 year old godchild (a boy with a little bit of mental delay due to a bad oxigenation in the delivery) in house, doesn´t know how to do to stop the hemorragy, very nervous. So I went there and had to take her to an particular emergency hospital to resolve the trouble with effectivelly.
May this is the main reason of my disbelief, but, sincerely... my believing is decreasing, Greg. Thanx for your work, example and way of see the thing. It made us believe a bit more and this is always something to please.
    hugs anda g night, fellow.
