Colors of the Field
A quilt of colors, Hongtudi, Yunnan, China.
Hongtudi(red earth soil) is known only by Chinese photographers. It's a small farming community set on top of a mountain about 8 hours outside of Kruming, Yunnan. It's famous for it's fiery red soil which is caused by minerals in the earth. The farmers plant different crops each season and the contrasts of fiery red patches, greens, yellows, and whites give a patchwork quilt appearance unique to this area.
