Alexander Keirincx, Forest Landscape with Hunters, 1640s

This piece reminds me a lot of landscapes by Dutchman Jacob van Geel, who depicted opulent, exaggerated vegetative forms, strange, fairy-tale looking forests and monstrous old trees (look here to the right to see octopus-like giant). Keirincx paints in the manneristic style almost in the middle of the 17th century, which is quite rare.
