Red-heads like grape jelly, too! :)

My first sighting of a Red-headed Woodpecker in this yard happened this afternoon, during light rainfall after a thunderstorm blew through the area.

I am beyond excited to get to see this species here...and it's our 121st yard species.

The only other photo I've ever gotten of a Red-headed WP was of a juvenile at our last place, which you can see here:

Males and females look alike, so there's no way to determine which this one is.

The other bird on the feeder is a female Baltimore Oriole, btw.

The woodpecker visited three of our feeders and hopefully it will be back.

I had to straighten this shot in Gimp...I was so freaked out trying to get pix that none of them were straight. :)
