And now for something completely different . . .
This was at the member preview of the grand opening of the remodeled High Museum in Atlanta. There are 2 new buildings added, both designed by Renzo Piano who did the original building. It looks like they have doubled the size of it, making a lot more room for the permanant collection.
To kick things off, Memory and Magic, an exhibit of Andrew Wyeth's art, is on display.
The Canonet is nice and stealthy, but I only got off 7 or 8 shots before a security guard told me I couldn't take photographs in the Wyeth exhibit rooms. She was all of 5 feet tall in her shoes. I could've taken her. ;) But I didn't want the 350 pound guard we passed on the way in to come to her rescue and smash my camera, so I put it away until we were back outside.
We were pressed for time and I didn't get to linger like I wanted, but
I really enjoyed the art. I don't know a lot about Wyeth, if all of
his work is as stark and barren as what is on display, but that sort
of thing appeals to me.
More to come.
