Warthin Tumor

The circumscribed nodule at the lower right part of the cut section of this parotid gland is a typical Warthin tumor. The characteristic, heavy infiltration of lymphocytes impart an inflammatory look to the lesion. This is a benign neoplasm of the salivary glands and the histological diagnosis is relatively straightforward. Diagnostic evaluation of an aspirate, however, can occasionally be difficult and misleading.
