Female Banded Demoiselle
A Female Banded Demoiselle resting on a blade of grass along the banks of the Royal Canal near Bailey's Bridge a little east of Kilcock. This is the first time I ever managed to capture this species. This is the female, which does not have the distinctive banded wing that gives the species it's name. I also captured a shot of a male, which I'll post in the next few days.
