Summer at Pike Bridge
A lady takes a rest while walking with her dog on one of the benches under pike bridge on a glorious summer afternoon as a pair of Irish Rail Class 29000 four-car DMUs race by working a Maynooth to Dublin Commuter service.
On the arch of the bridge over the Royal Canal, you can see little blotches of purple, these are clumps of Fairy Foxgloves. I posted a closeup shot of one of these lovely little flowers yesterday.
This is one of the first shots I've taken with my new CP filter, have to say I'm really liking the look it gives shots taken when there is a high sun. Without the filter the millions of little reflections from each leaf and blade of grass really cut down on the vibrancy of the colour you see in a landscape. Also, it has a nice effect on the sky, stopping it from blowing out.
