The Maynooth Shuttle
RPSI steam loco No.186 with the RPSI Cravens coaches approaching Matt Goff Bridge as the "Maynooth Shuttle" steam special.
The Maynooth Shuttle was planned to be the Dublin debut of recently overhauled steam loco No.461, but she ran into some technical difficulties on her way from Belfast down to Dublin the weekend before, so No.186 had to stand in for her. There were two trips on the day, both starting in Pearse Station in Dublin, running out to Maynooth, then back in to Dublin-Pearse. Here we see the train, running tender-first on the last leg of the day, heading back from Maynooth to Dublin.
