This is a photo of the 1931 Pontiac that Frank, Tom Hutchins, Gene McIntosh, Jack Rhame and me started for Canada the morning after graduation in 1937. By way Washington DC, Baltimore, Philadelphia, New York City, West Point, Niagra Falls and then Toronto, Canada. We were on the road for 30 days and always stayed in YMCA's, usually for a dollar a night. In NYC they even sent baggage handlers for our luggage. LOL

In Niagra Falls while eating lunch, a lady came over and kissed Frank on the

cheek. He turned as red as a fire hydrant and then she told him that she was engaged to his Uncle Dick Kirk in Eutawville, SC. Sure had a good laugh on that one.

We always received mail from home by going to the General Delivery Window at the Post Office, maybe every day about 200 miles away. We always ate at the same restaurant and on our last day in Toronto, the owner told us that the meal was on him because he had enjoyed our company.

Not a word of disagreement on the whole trip.
