Queens' College, Cambridge - President's Lodge

Queens' College is one of the oldest colleges in Cambridge, dating from the mid-15th century. In the early days the Presidents of the college were forbidden to marry, but this changed towards the end of the 16th century, and around 1597 the President's Lodge was built above the cloisters in order to provide suitable married accommodation. The Lodge is the only substantial half-timbered building remaining in Cambridge.
