This is the grave of CSA Surgeon Hunter H. McGuire - Hollywood Cemetery, Richmond, Virginia. McGuire originally entered the Confederate Army as a private in the Winchester Rifles, Company F, 2d Virginia Infantry. He would advance to 2d Corps Surgeon in the Army of Northern Virginia. He was best known for amputating Thomas J. "Stonewall" Jackson's arm. He served with the Army of Northern Virginia through the end of the war. Additionally he contributed to the original Geneva Conventions and served as president of the American Medical Association. He has a statue on the grounds of the Virginia state capitol.
