Proofreading

Year 2, Day 133. "As you transcribe, so shall you proofread"

  • Barb PRO 7y

....but it's so much more fun when it's NOT proofread!

you really look "into" whatever it is your proofreading.
  • lrayholly 7y

Working on your reviews? Doesn't do me any good to proofread my own stuff. I have to have somebody else do it. I always read it the way it SHOULD be! I sometimes can't see my mistakes!
  • Bev Sykes 7y

EXACTLY my problem! (Actually, in this instance I was proofreading an interview i had just transcribed)
  • Barb PRO 7y

me too - I can't seem to "see" my mistakes - my brain just misses it all!!
We used to keep a file of the funniest typos (after blacking out names of course....) One of the favorites was an operative report that began:

"The patient was prepped and raped in the usual manner..."

What a difference one letter makes!
(and by the way - KUDOS to you transcriptionists!! The way the doctors mumble and speed through their dictation - I could NEVER do it!!)

"The patient was prepped and raped in the usual manner..."

Is that the way the gynecologists are "showing their love" for their patients, that Bush talks about?
  • Barb PRO 7y

ROFLOL - that's one of my favorite Bush clips!! - makes me giggle every time!!
