    Were you pushing the piece of wood through and taking the photo at the same time?

    No, I just left the saw running with the wood stationary. Probably not the safest thing to do - if the wood or the table got bumped.

    Also, this is a bad example of cutting since the blade should not be so high for such a thin piece of wood. And the blade guard should be down. Maybe this should be a "spot the safety violations" picture instead.

    I'm a sucker for powertools. And it's a good picture, artistically. My old shop teacher would beat you on the head for running the saw like that though. :)
