The old bell tower II

Amazing that it is still standing. Held there as much by vines and roots as stone and masonry. The last standing structure in the abandoned village of Galeria Antica, uninhabited since 1809. During the 18th Century the population began dying off, rather mysteriously, since at the end the remaining inhabitants left in such a hurry as to leave their possessions and the unburied dead behind them. The usual explanation of malaria, common at the time, doesn't explain this sudden and complete abandonment.
