Inga, last but impossibly far from least
So I’ve been coming to this bar, the George&Dragon, for.. how long? Let me check my first Flickr art and see, hold please.
Since 2005. Wow. So yeah, I first stumbled into this incredibly smoky english pub in my neighborhood back in 2005, and fell hard. Good atmosphere (better once the smoking ban took effect), good lighting (dark but with small downlights along the bar) and a U-shaped bar that let me sit and watch the tableaux from any seat (I don’t like having my back to a room. Boring, for one thing.) and some of the best, most genuine people working here as I’ve ever known. So over the years I’ve drawn virtually every bartender at some point or another. But Inga came late, after I’d moved past trying to impress or get free drinks.
But better late than never. I’m going to be moving soon, and sadly the pub won’t be within walking distance anymore. Not even train bus or boat distance. So I wanted to draw Inga before I left. Tall, beautiful, one of the sweetest people you will ever meet. And with an irritatingly awesome boyfriend, she’s also one of the happiest people you’re likely to come across. She usually works Tuesdays (Pub Trivia Night!) Wednesdays and Fridays. Do like me and come for the atmosphere, stay for the people.
And tip well, like almost every other bartender in the world, she’s putting herself through school.
