Monument (Romulus and Remus) Rome, Ga.

Capitoline Wolf

Romulus and Remus, as legend has it were twin brothers. They were abandoned by parents and placed in basket in river that ran aground and the twins were found by female wolf. The wolf nursed the twins for a short time. They were later found by a shepherd who raised them. Later on Romulus killed Remus in argument over site to found Rome. Romulus as survivor gave the new city his name.
