Mountains

    Newer Older

Taken along the "Going-To-The-Sun" road which runs West->East through the heart of national park. The road is 50 miles long, narrow and winding but offering breathtaking views of the mountains, valleys and glaciers.

This is near Logan Pass where the road turns into a single lane. This was taken while waiting at a traffic light for the traffic coming the other way to pass.

Gosh, this is really exceptional! I love the rich green hues and grey sky with low clouds. I can feel the pristine air!

If your "people" photography has to go on the back burner because of gorgeous shots like this, then so be it! Nice use of the humble D40 and kit lens, all done while at a traffic stop, no less. Great job!

breathtaking view indeed! Although a little bit underexposed for my taste.

    8. .Bala 80 months ago | reply

: Thanks Matt. You're too kind with your words. The D40 is a great camera! While it would be nice to have a swanky D300, but I doubt I would take any better photos!

: I agree Lambert! A little underexposed for my taste as well, but I think thats what enabled me to save the skies for the HDR. I should try brightening the greens in post. Thanks for bringing that to my notice. I'll give it a shot!

i really like the contrast between the valley and the sky... the valley calm and steady as ever, while the sky seems impatient and restless.

I stopped at about the same spot during my first of many trips there many, many years ago.
