Las Siete Regiones de Oaxaca
Most of the displays are made of radishes, but there are at least two other categories. This small group is "flor inmortal" or dried flowers. This diorama shows the dress styles that represent the seven regions of Oaxaca. The Guelaguetza is probably the best time to see these dress styles on display. This is a dance and festival held in the middle of July.
The only style I really got to see was Pinotepa. This is probably what most people think of when trying to conjure up some image of a flashy dress from colonial Mexico. The men of Pinotepa wear all white and a cowboy hat. In the dance they wave around a handkerchief.
