Brown Bear Skull

A brown bear, or sometimes referred to as Grizzly Bear is generally larger than black bears. Brown bears have large humps behind their heads because of the large muscles required to dig in the dirt to make the dens that they winter in.

When considering differences in skulls, Brown bears have a dished-in nose, whereas Black bears have a sloping "Roman" nose. Notice there is also a slightly larger sagittal crest at the back of the skull.
