Just A Little Someone I Met in Washington Square Park
My first day in The Big Apple. We'd been out of the apartment for maybe an hour, walking through the park. My keen eyes noticed cameras set up and Bryan said, because it was Panavision equipment, that it was for a feature film. There were people set up all over so we didn't know where the action was so we continued walking. Then Bryan thinks he sees Robin Williams in the dog park area surrounded by his assistant et al. He goes to bust out the camera when a security guy said "I don't mean to be a dick but do what you gotta do before I get a call to tell you to stop." Then, for reasons unknown to me, I blurted out, "We're from Chicago!" and Mr. Security says, "Well go tell him that! Get your picture taken with him!" I look to my right and Robin Willams is walking out of the dog park headed directly for me. Then, as if it's my mantra, I say AGAIN "We're from Chicago! Can I have my picture taken with you?" Robin (we're on a first-name basis) looked dead tired and totally burned-out from filming so he wearily obliged, hence his facial expression in the picture. Bryan was the happy husband behind the camera. Me? I'm smiling away like a star-struck fool but that's fine by me. BECAUSE I'M THE FOOL WHO HAS A PICTURE WITH ROBIN WILLIAMS!
Robin Williams is most famous for: Mrs. Doubtfire, Good Morning Vietnam, Good Will Hunting, RV, Insomnia, Patch Adams, What Dreams May Come, Bird Cage, Awakenings, the voice of Genie in Disney's Aladdin, and Fisher King.
