The Fortuna

    Newer Older

Meet the Fortuna, a project by Corellian Engineering looking at new Fast Escort and Corvette designs.

Protected by heavy armour and ray shields.
Weapons include two heavy blaster turrets, 2 quad blaster turrets, and 2 "cheek" blasters. Proton torpedo tubes are also available.

At maximum speed she is rated for 0.77 past lightspeed, one of the fastest designs CEC now has to offer.
A civilian medium-heavy freighter variant may be developed also, with de-rated engines to adhere to galactic law.

Stunning. A perfect merging of styles and instantly recognisable as fitting within the SW galaxy.

Cheers, I wanted something that didn't quite resemble any of the popular ships from the SW universe, but still something that looked like it fit the style.

Many thanks, good evil Dr. Tiling the main body and sculpting it was sheer lazinesss, but I can't help but think the same technique used on the forward fuselage would leave big gaps elsewhere on the build, partly caused by the circular mid section. The model does demonstrate the more common approaches nicely though.

Cheers, it turned out better than I hoped. A few stripes of colour makes a world of difference too IMO.

Oh man, this is great! You really captured the Corellian YT series look in this beauty. I'd love to see any interior work you may have done on it. Great job on this.

Thanks! It's not bad, but not wow wooow wooow wooaooow good....

Thanks Bro's. I'm glad it retained the YT commonality overall, but I reckon you could stick that cockpit piece on an F-16 and it would look an awful lot like a falcon all of a sudden!
The interior detail only consisted of the cockpit section, which sadly I didn't take any pics of. The rest of the innards were pretty solid.

Great job, you can certainly see the Corellian heritage in her !

Thanks! I'm glad to hear that from someone who I'm sure knows a lot more about Corellian ships than I do.
I've always liked the idea of doing an oversized YT-1300, perhaps one day.
