    Newer Older

So these birds are getting tired of their worn-out birdhouses that have become too small for them. Here they are presenting ideas for their new birdhouses for Corey to build.

Don't you get tired of being so impressive, Ayumi?:) Your work is so inspirational! How long do you spend working on a single block like this?

Wow Ayumi - seriously - you need a book deal! This is just incredible and so gorgeous. All the little details you add to every block and the intricate piecing...just amazing. You truly are so talented and I feel so honored that I am in this bee with you!!

The little doors on the birdhouses are too cute and what a perfect way to hang the quilt :-)

Breathtaking! Gorgeous! Fantastic! None of words I know could describe this block well. For sure it's the best block I've seen! I don't think I'll ever find other block which is better unless it's your next block:)

Ayumi - oh my gosh. This is amazingly fab in every way. I love the birds, their lovely shape and patterned wings and the house quilt is so wonderful. You are amazing!
(I was wondering, how big is the block : )

Such sweet people in this flickr world! Thank you so much guys! You know how to make me smile :)

I think I have to start calling you Mrs Motivator! You have nailed every skill/technique I want to learn and you still act like you are not as good. You are crazy!
Gosh it feels so good to know you like how this turned out! The white back ground on the quilt and the main background are not the same white, which is more obvious in person. The white on the quilt is a quite bit lighter. I will secure the birds applique with hand-sewing with invisible thread and will pop it in the mail for you! Please feel free to machine-stitch around the applique, chop off as much border as you need, etc! Thank you so much Corey for choosing such a great theme and for letting me take so much time to finish it!
Carmen! Do you remember you gave me the cup print fabric (in the pink birdhouse)? I love it so much!! It takes me a long time to come up with an idea and a design, but the actual sewing part doesn't take too much time.. at least that's what I think!
Thank you Amber! I started your block today! Yours might become one of my favorite blocks I have made if and only if what I think will happen actually happens (most cases, it won't happen lol)
Thank you! I love your advent calendar a million times more!
Thank you Charise!! It is about 16.5" x 12" as it is but has lots of space that can be cut off :)

this is really, really fabulous, Ayumi and is so characteristic of your style! I love how your blocks have such a unique look, so crisp and graphic looking to the point that they resemble a graphic print. Your work is always impeccable!

Ayumi--hey!--I just stopped by your blog and read all about the making of this block. I tried to post to your blog but for some reason my computer hasn't been letting me post comments and I just wanted to say thank you again!

Here's the comment I tried to leave on your blog:

Oh Ayumi!--I dearly love this block and I am so excited that it get to come to my house! I always eagerly await your blocks for Ringo Pie because they just never fail to inspire me--and so many other people! =)

      Thank you so, so much!

What a sweet thing to say!

You are such a sweetie! Blogger doesn't let me comments every once a while too. I popped this in the mail for you a few days ago. I might have messed up the pink bird with handstitching.. Please feel free to machine stitch around birds like you do for your adorable bird appliques! It was so much fun to make this for you! We definitely share love for birds + bright, pastel colors!
