Horribly grainy from the ISO but it was dark and the cat was fast ! At f20 the aperture is way too high but I'd just finished shooting some stuff where I wanted a huge DoF and the cat refused to hear my plea to 'hang on a minute' :-) See thing moving - pounce !


OSH - One shot hybrids. Because I'm a snapper (reactive photographer - if you want to be nice) the one thing I really can't control is the light. Multiple layers of the same shot allow me to distort the light that was actually captured into something that I can control.


This is a simple 2 layer shot in which the duplicate was zoom-blurred 100% and centered in the top left hand corner.


I used a variety of eraser shapes at very low strength, to control the strength of blurring at any given point in the image. Here, I'm emphasising speed.


At normal strength this deception would be less noticable than here - where I've purposely blended more strongly so that the blur is easily seen.


From j8 onwards shots have been processed in much this way.
