Squid - Tagliolini al ragu di Seppia - Tea Rooms of Yarck AUD28
The perfectly al-dente pasta was a great match for the slow-cooked squid ragu. Cutting the squid into strips to match the tagliolini was a very good idea and made for a nice match of shapes.
The intense ragu of squid was rich with tomatoes as evidenced by the little pool of orangey oil, and the squid ink imparted a nice metallic flavour of the sea. It also made my teeth black :)
Still as good as nearly two years ago! Great tasting food, but Annie Smithers seems more exciting, although the seasonal antipasti is still a favourite.
