Ethiopian Yirgachefe Clover-style coffee - close-up - Liar Liar AUD5
Ethiopian Yirgachefe coffee beans brewed in a Clover Coffee Machine. It is true that coffee brewed this way has a sweeter finish when served warm. As the coffee cooled, different, almost floral, aromas emerged. Finally when it cooled, the acidity comes to the fore.
Interesting, but not as great as people make it out to be, with all the precise hydraulics and vacuums. In fact, as a coffee, it is rather like a weak American-style coffee. Not surprising, since it is an American company that is now owned by Starbucks!
Brother Baba Budan has a Clover coffee maker, and it seems like Liar Liar is the only other place in Melbourne.

my eyes keep flicking to the sleek stainless steel trimmed Clover coffee filter machine on the bench at Liar Liar cafe in Hawthorn. It is functional rather than beautiful, an arched water tap its only appendage, and could easily be mistaken for a water filter.
The machine, which sells for more than $10,000, is one of only two in Melbourne (the other is at Brother Baba Budan in Little Bourke Street in the city).
The Age Cheap Eats 2009 "This is the cafe Hawthorn had to have. There's never a dull moment at this offGlenferrie joint, where Moroccan-inspired lampshades cast exotic shadows over dark communal tables and low stools"
