Nasi Kuning, Chilli Chicken, Ikan Bilis, Braised Tofu - Nelayan AUD11
The chilli chicken is always a favourite! Same for the crisp deep-fried dried anchovies and peanuts tossed in a chilli caramel, except that they were a little too salty. Can't blame them for being generous though!
The braised tofu seems rather Chinese tasting, especially with the soft silky texture inside. It was braised in a nice soy sauce and star anise ... uh braise.
The bright-yellow turmeric rice was rich with coconut milk! Very nice! I could have it on it's own, perhaps with a small pile of the chilli caramel anchovies :)

The Nelayan in the city has better food. The Nelayan in Hawthorn seems a bit more Chinese-Indonesian, and the food seems a bit over-seasoned.
