I wonder what makes it golden?

The grains were not very starchy and all separate when cooked, with a chewy texture, and faintly nutty in aroma. Not unpleasant, but different.

 

It needed about 505 more water to cook than typical rice, ie. around 3 cups water per cup of golden rice.
