Canon 7D video setup with Rode VideoMic and Sigma 30mm f/1.4 lens

UPDATE: See my updated setup (May 2012).

I gave up on the Canon HG10 w/35mm for shooting HD video. Not only was the quality not stellar, but it's a hack that's cumbersome and really difficult to work with.

So, I bit the bullet and forked over the cash for a Canon EOS 7D. It shoots incredible photos and equally impressive 1080p HD video. I still have plenty to learn about the camera and photography in general, but so far I'm really pleased with it.

Equipment shown in this setup:

* Canon EOS 7D 18 MP CMOS Digital SLR Camera

* Sigma 30mm f/1.4 EX DC HSM Lens (see the other lenses I use for Canon 7D video)

* RODE VideoMic

* Sima LED Video Light (x 2)

* Cool-lux Sound & Light Bracket

* Matthews M25 Tripod (not pictured)

* Opteka X-Grip (not pictured)

* Audio Technica ATR-3350 Lavalier Condenser Mic (wired) (not pictured)

Special thanks to Benjamin Reece, Eyepatch Productions, and Luka for the setup advice.
