Under the Zodiac

The under side of a Zodiac (North Queensland Day) Moth, Alcides metaurus, showing the colouring bright orange stripe on the body, as well as the banded wings, as it sips nectar from the blossoms of the red bottlebrush (Callistemon) tree.

To see the more metallic colours on the top side of this moth click on my Aussie moths and butterflies album www.flickr.com/photos/aussiegypsy/albums/72157651150719091

I really appreciate all who visit to view, comment and/or fave my nature offerings from various parts of Australia. Thank you!
