Eye ring

Galahs, Eolophus roseicapillus, are widespread through Australia but there are minor variations across the country in the different areas. This one is part of Western Australia’s Race roseicapillus with their distinctive grey eye ring.

This was one of a pair who cheekily came to check out our camp in the outback town of Tom Price, and in the process gave me the chance to get a close shot of its eye.
