Luna Surgery Team

Weighing less than two pounds, Luna, a three-month-old, double-coated long-hair Chihuahua, was brought to Auburn’s College of Veterinary Medicine from Seattle to undergo heart surgery for Patent Ductus Arteriosus—becoming the college’s smallest patient for that type of procedure. The surgery team included, from left, anesthesia technician Madeline Murphy; fourth-year veterinary student Halle Thomasch; surgical resident Dr. Christopher Lee; soft tissue surgeon Dr. Harry Boothe; Soft Tissue Service surgery technician Haley Pritchard; and fourth-year veterinary student Andrea Hoover. Dr. Jacob Johnson, not pictured, served as anesthesiologist.
