Standing Women at Mirror Lake 1926 Best's Studio

From a series of three photos, each measuring roughly 6 x 8 inches, all found in a snapshot album with scenes from Yosemite National Park. It wasn't until I removed one from the page that I noticed the Best's Studio ink stamp on the back. In case you are not familiar with the studio, Best's Studio was founded by Harry Best in 1902 (started as a tent studio and opened a formal studio in 1904). From that point the studio thrived and in the 1920s Ansel Adams started a relationship with the gallery that would last well into the future. He married Virginia Best in 1928 and the rest is history as they say. While I have no idea who actually took these photos, the connection to the Best's Studio was an exciting surprise.
