This was taken facing straight onto a wall. Look at the centre; it's lovely and sharp. Now look towards any corner except the bottom right and the focus is kind-of tolerable most of the way towards the corner.

 

Now look to the bottom-right, and see how the foxus is lost almost immediately.

 

This has happened to me before, and the camera was repaired. It's obviously happened again.

 

My belief is that this problem has been caused by the camera switching on while in a little Lowepro bag that I wear on my belt. When this happens, the lens extends but gets jammed against the inside of the bag, and it's a bit of an effort to pull the camera out of the bag.

 

A keylock, or some mechanism requiring two simultaneous button presses to switch the camera on, would have prevented this problem.
