I'm fairly certain this girl walked over because she saw me taking pictures of this view. Glad to help show another person something beautiful around us.

I walked over the Queensboro Bridge today. I didn't intend to. I intended to go to Roosevelt Island, but I found myself on the Bridge Approach, and curiosity got the best of me. It was a beautiful sunset, with some dynamic clouds, and a sun that was flickering like a florescent bulb with a faulty starter, or some of those street lights at dusk.

I remember when I first saw Roosevelt Island on a map, I was certain there must be an elevator from the bridge to the island. Now, of course, this seems silly, although there was a small part of me convinced I would find it there as I crossed the bridge. How cool would it have been to find that? Of course there was not, but it was fun to discover for sure. Sometimes keeping the mystery alive is better. That's a great thing about New York, all those hidden secrets it keeps to itself, only discovered by those who look for them. Even a year later, I'm still discovering wonderful little places I had not known existed. A nice, mellow way to enjoy sunset on this Saturday, even if the only secret discovered was that one never existed in the first place.
