7.21.12 Art-A-Go-Go with CCAS
On July 21, 2012, the Center for Contemporary Arts Sacramento www.ccasac.org hosted Art-A-Go-Go at the stunning MCM home and pool of Renee Carter. The home was completed in 1963 for Robert and Jeanette Powell and had been featured on the 2010 Sacramento Home Tour.

The event included:
- wonderful art by the following artists who donated half of their proceeds to support CCAS: Gregory Kondos, Scott Mattlin, David K. Lobenberg, Shane Grammer, Susan Sarback, Connie Omans, Suzanne Bell, Suzanne McClelland, Taylor Gutermute, Micah Crandall-Bear , Betsy Kritzon, Jenny Stepp, Kurt Hausman, Tom Fillebrown, Gerold O. Simpson, Lora Watts, Ning Ho, Janet Nicholson, Betsy Kritzon, Marc Foster and Gayle Rappaport-Weiland. Many of the pieces were inspired by the era including several that were created for the event.
- delicious 60's inspired food by Mama Kim Cooks old.mamakimcooks.com. There were retro small plates via a food truck: apple almond chicken salad in lettuce cups; individual mac and cheese; BBQ smoked tri-tip sliders with slaw and old school potato salad; and teriyaki pork and pineapple skewers with fried rice. Retro passed appetizers included: shrimp rumaki with water chestnuts wrapped in bacon; swedish meatballs on spoons; mini banana cream tarts and mini ice cream cones.
