Hurricane Ike Water Line

While strolling around Galveston the past few days it was hard to imagine the destruction of just over a year ago. There are a few reminders, though. The blue line on the side of the 1869 First National Bank building is the high water mark from Hurricane Ike's storm surge. It's higher than it looks from this photo. The sidewalk is a couple of feet higher than the street.
