The Lagoon Nebula in Sagittarius

The well-known Lagoon Nebula in Sagittarius takes on a wealth of detail when imaged through narrowband filters mapped to RGB.

 

Exposures: R= SII =120 mins , G = Ha= 45 mins B = OIII = 120 mins (Total 4.75 hours)

Date: 21st October 2010

Location: Macedon Ranges, Victoria.

 

Processing:

Sub-Image calibration, colour image composition, sigma rejected addition and RGB image combination with CCDStack.

 

PixInsight Wavelets used for noise reduction and enhancement.

 

Image planned, acquired, captured and processed from the Gold Coast, using the remote telescope at Southern Galactic in the Macedon Ranges in Victoria.
