Colourful Montes Apenninus
The Area around the Apennine Mountain Range on the Moon has an amazing range of colours created by the mixture of minerals in the lunar soil.
Blue and orange are typically volcanic lava flows, dark blues titanium, pink indicates aluminium
and brownish-red hues are iron.
This is the average of the best 30 frames from a 99-frame time lapse of the moon taken with the EM-5 on a Celestron 9.25" f/30 telescope (A focal length of more than 7 metres), ISO200, 1/25th second.
It's been saturation enhanced to bring out the colours..
