Cool truck ...

We had some snow today and luckily I had an hour to spare to go out with my camera and try to catch some of the glory. It was the first time in 6 weeks I gone out shooting. I'm glad I did. I intend to do more of it in the coming months.

The image is an amalgam of 3 handheld shots in RAW. I just layerd one on the other in Photoshop with various blending modes. Then some dodge and burn. And finally I stumbled upon two tricks to bring some contrast to a scene that had none to begin with. First I made a stamp (alt+cmd+shift+e) layer with the blending mode set to screen and played around with the shadow/highlight adjustment. I repeated this with the blending mode set to multiply. I then made a black and white layer with the blending mode set to lighten and another one with the blending mode set to multiply. Maybe something useful to cranck some contrast out of a flat scene.
